Sobre Maria
Sou professora do 1.º Ciclo com experiência em escolas internacionais e portuguesas, e dou mais do que explicações, faço um acompanhamento/tutoria personalizada a crianças do 1.º ao 6.º ano, incluindo MATEMÁTICA, PORTUGUÊS, ESTUDO DO MEIO e Português Língua Não Materna (PLNM).
Mais do que ensinar conteúdos, gosto de conhecer verdadeiramente cada criança, perceber as suas dificuldades, inseguranças e também aquilo que a faz brilhar. Acredito muito que quando uma criança se sente segura, compreendida e valorizada, aprende muito melhor e ganha confiança em si própria.
Procuro criar aulas próximas, leves e motivadoras, adaptadas ao ritmo e à personalidade de cada aluno, para que aprender deixe de ser uma fonte de frustração e passe a ser algo positivo e natural. Sou apaixonada pelo ensino e por acompanhar o crescimento das crianças, não só a nível académico, mas também pessoal.
I am a Primary School Teacher with experience in both international and Portuguese schools, offering more than just tutoring, I provide personalized academic support and mentoring for children from Grade 1 to Grade 6, including MATHS, PORTUGUESE, SOCIAL STUDIES and PORTUGUESE AS A NON-NATIVE LANGUAGE (PLNM).
More than simply teaching academic content, I truly enjoy getting to know each child, understanding their difficulties, insecurities, learning style and also what makes them unique and confident. I strongly believe that when children feel safe, understood and genuinely valued, they learn with much more ease, motivation and self-confidence.
My goal is to create lessons that feel supportive, engaging and adapted to each student’s personality and pace, helping learning become something positive and natural rather than stressful or frustrating. I am deeply passionate about teaching and about supporting children not only academically, but also personally, as they grow, evolve and develop confidence in themselves and their abilities.

Hello! My name is Maria and I am a Primary School Teacher with experience in both international and traditional Portuguese schools. I currently work at a well-known international school in Lisbon.
I have been providing tutoring and academic support for around 5 years and my schedule is usually quite full, but I recently had an opening available and decided to create this ad.
My work goes far beyond simply “helping with homework”. I like to truly understand where each student’s difficulties are and adapt every session to their individual needs. I prepare each lesson carefully and, whenever necessary, go back to previous topics in order to strengthen foundations, especially in maths, where solid basics are essential for real progress.
I support students from Year 1 to Year 6 in all subjects and I also have extensive experience in Portuguese as a Non-Native Language (PLNM), particularly with children from international backgrounds.
I am available for online sessions, although I strongly believe in the effectiveness of face-to-face teaching, either at the student’s home or in a quiet place to be arranged (library, calm café, etc.). During these sessions I can also help with:
study organisation
school material organisation
study methods
test preparation
summaries and note-taking
managing assignments and important dates
I am also available for extra sessions before tests and assessments.
I am truly passionate about what I do and strongly believe that confidence and motivation make a huge difference in a child’s academic journey. I have experience both with younger children who are beginning reading and writing, as well as older students up to 12 years old.
I currently work with students in Lisbon and surrounding areas.
I work with a limited number of students in order to guarantee truly personalised and close support for each child.
My rates are above the average of traditional tutoring services, precisely because this is a highly personalised approach, carefully prepared according to each student’s individual needs.
My goal is not simply to “teach content”, but to help every child build strong foundations, independence, organisation and confidence in their learning process.
