Sobre Tiag
I am a professional jazz guitarist currently completing a BA in Jazz and Contemporary Music.
With over six years of focused study and performance experience, I specialise in jazz guitar, harmony, and improvisation.
Having lived and studied in different countries, including Ecuador, Portugal, Ireland and now Spain, I bring a broad musical perspective to my teaching.
I work comfortably in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
Alongside my university training, I actively perform and continue developing as a musician. My goal as a teacher is to help students build strong foundations, understand music clearly, and gain confidence on the instrument.

My lessons are structured but flexible, depending on your level and what you want to work on. I focus on making theory practical, so everything we study is applied directly on the guitar.
Beginners
• Open and basic chords
• Rhythm and timing
• Technique and posture
• Reading (notation or tab)
• Simple jazz or contemporary tunes Intermediate
• Extended and altered chords
• ii–V–I progressions and functional harmony
• Improvisation with scales and arpeggios
• Comping and groove development Advanced
• Voice leading and substitutions
• Modal harmony and deeper harmonic concepts
• Developing phrasing and improvisational ideas
• Transcriptions and vocabulary building
Lessons are usually one hour.
I adjust the pace to make sure you’re progressing without feeling overwhelmed. I’ve worked with beginners and younger students before, and I’m happy to teach anyone who’s serious about improving and understanding the instrument properly.

• Focus on rhythm and musicality
• Development of ear training alongside technique
• Structured progression with practical exercises
My aim is not only to teach pieces, but to help you understand the instrument and develop independence as a musician.
