Sobre Olena
I am a live vocal performer and sound artist working with the voice as a living instrument between body, sound, and emotion. My musical practice moves between ambient, folk, and experimental vocal expression, with a strong focus on improvisation and authentic sound.
I am also a vocalist in the neofolk / post-ambient duo OO0oϙ0O0O00O (o-o-zero). Through this work, I explore how folk vocal elements and contemporary experimental music can meet and transform each other.
Alongside performing, I guide vocal practices that help people reconnect with their natural voice. My approach grew from years of personal exploration of voice and traditional Ukrainian folk singing — a tradition where singing is not about perfection or stage performance, but about connection, presence, and shared experience.
I have facilitated vocal practice and workshop in Berlin, creating space where participants can explore authentic sounding and collective singing in a supportive environment. These sessions lead to meaningful discoveries: people begin to sing more freely, sound more confidently, or simply experience joy in using their voice.
For me, the voice is not only a musical skill but also a way to reconnect with oneself and others. I believe that everyone who wishes can learn to use their voice for expression, creativity, and shared musical moments.

My vocal practice is based on the idea that every person already carries a natural voice within them. My approach is not academic and not focused on “singing correctly”, but on rediscovering a free, grounded sound that comes from the body.
In my classes, we work through gentle body awareness, breathing practices, listening, and vocal improvisation. I often draw inspiration from traditional Ukrainian folk singing, where the voice emerges from openness, collective presence, and connection rather than technical control.
A typical session begins with simple grounding exercises and breath work to release tension and connect the voice with the body. From there, we explore sounds, calls, and vocal textures, gradually opening space for each participant’s authentic voice. Sometimes we also explore elements of folk melodies and collective singing.
My teaching focuses on voice liberation, natural resonance, improvisation, and expressive confidence. The goal is not perfection, but presence, curiosity, and joy in sounding.
These classes are open to both “singers” and “non-singers”; for groups or private. No previous experience, music theory, or ability to read notes is required. They are especially suitable for people who want to reconnect with their voice, explore creativity, or experience singing as a form of personal expression and connection with others.
