Sobre Lizzy
I am a graduate student at the University of Texas where I study Structural Geology. I have experience at the university-level teaching labs for Life Through Time, a freshman course focused on evolution and geologic time and Field Methods, a sophomore course focused on basic mapping principles, cross section construction and interpretation of depositional models. My students consistently scored in the top of their class on their exams. I have had the pleasure of teaching, grading and helping 25 students, not including those students who were not assigned to me but frequented my office hours.
I also worked as a Scientist in Residence for a local 8th grade classroom, where I developed hands-on lesson plans and assisted a STEM teacher in his classroom. I encouraged my students to involve themselves in the world of STEM and brought real-world examples of their lessons into the classroom. I met with all 120 8th grade students at the school during my time as a SciRes Fellow.

I create engaging lessons for primary, secondary and university level students that will help you understand processes that shape our Earth and other planets. My geology lessons frequently involve model building with every day materials so you can get a hands-on feel for Earth processes. I encourage my students to ask questions and make mistakes as those are crucial components of the learning process.
