Hello! I’m Vânia, a native Portuguese speaker with a degree in International Relations and over 15 years of international business experience. I have spent much of my career leading supply‑chain and business‑development teams across Europe, Asia and the Americas, which has given me a deep appreciation for cross‑cultural communication. Alongside my corporate roles, I have also taught Portuguese as a Foreign Language (PLE), helping adults from diverse backgrounds adapt to life and work in Portugal.
My teaching style is professional yet relaxed, and I take pride in tailoring each lesson to your goals—whether you need Portuguese for everyday life, to advance in your career, or simply to enjoy a new language. You can trust that the lessons will be structured, engaging and adapted to your pace; my aim is to create a supportive environment where you feel confident to speak and grow. My teaching style is communicative and student‑centred. I create a relaxed and supportive environment where learners feel comfortable speaking and experimenting with the language. Lessons blend grammar and vocabulary with real‑life conversation, using authentic materials (articles, videos, podcasts) and interactive exercises tailored to each person’s goals and interests.
How a typical lesson works: we begin with a short conversation in Portuguese to review previous content and warm up. I then introduce a new topic or grammatical structure through clear explanations and practical examples. Students practise with guided exercises, and we finish with a communicative task—such as role‑playing, discussion or writing—that consolidates the new language. I provide feedback and suggest activities for independent study.
Specialisations: I teach Portuguese as a Foreign Language (PLE) at all levels, and I have particular expertise in business Portuguese. My 15+ years of professional experience in international business, supply chain and product development allow me to design lessons that address workplace communication, negotiation and cultural nuances. I also prepare students for certification exams (e.g. CAPLE) or specific needs like travel and everyday survival Portuguese.
Intended audience: my classes are designed mainly for adults living in Portugal or who have recently started their professional life here, as well as professionals who work with Portuguese colleagues, partners or clients. Whether you are an expatriate settling in the country or someone who needs Portuguese for business, I tailor the lessons to your background and objectives. As a native speaker with a degree in International Relations and advanced management training, I bring a broad cultural perspective and practical insight to each session.
