Sobre Noel
My name is Noel Swords. I'm Irish and a native speaker of English. I have 22 years' experience teaching English in Ireland, Poland, and Brazil, and I also have over one hundred written recommendations from past students. I focus on teaching my students not only WHAT to learn, but also HOW to learn it. I do this by teaching my students skills. As a result, students become more independent learners. They take more control of their learning and are therefore less dependent on a teacher. The more skills you have, the less you need a teacher.

Reading
We read at the beginning of every lesson. Then we analyse the text to find common expressions, collocations, phrasal verbs, etc. In total, that takes about ten minutes. The objective is to train the student to notice more every time he or she reads.
Speaking
As the student speaks, I correct all mistakes: pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, etc. I type the information on screen so that the student can see it, and the student revises this information after the lesson. At the end of the lesson, I give feedback about what to learn and how to learn it.
Skills
Correcting mistakes and giving feedback are not enough. I also teach my students language learning skills. The more skills you learn, the more control you have over your learning, and this is important for your motivation and interest in learning English.

Your First Free Lesson
Your first free lesson is in fact a free online consultation. During the consultation, I explain my service and answer your questions. In total, it lasts about fifteen to thirty minutes, depending on the number of questions you ask.
My Method
I use the modern communicative approach, meaning that English is taught and learnt by means of reading, writing, speaking, listening, and revising. I teach spoken English. I focus on intensive conversation practice. I don’t teach business English, legal English, or exam lessons. I don’t teach older methods: audio-lingual, grammar-translation.
My Working hours
Monday to Saturday: 9 am, 10 am, 11 am, 12 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm, 4 pm. Monday to Thursday: 7 pm, 8 pm. I’m Irish. I’m from Ireland but I live in Italy. Now you can use the internet to check the time difference between Italy and the country where you live, and then you can try to find a time for your lessons that works with my working hours.
