Sobre Sarah
I am a native English teacher from Durham, England. I am excited to run this course as it is in an area I specialise in! Additionally, I am excited to introduce more people to a different method of improving their English that isn't just conversation or grammar work.
- Honors Bachelor's degree in English and History.
- TEFL certificate for 140 hours.
- More than 4 years of English teaching experience.

THE ENGLISH LITERATURE SOCIETY
I will help you to improve your language skills through your understanding of language itself, as well as speaking and writing skills. There is required reading which will have you analysing the language, then you will come to class to listen and speak with me and your other classmates. You will write two essays in order to demonstrate your skills and get feedback on grammar as well as your analysis.
There is:
1 x lecture per week, in order to get context and demonstrations from me.
1 x discussion seminar per week, in which you will have the opportunity to speak and argue with your classmates.
2 x essays written by you during the course, which you will receive feedback on.
12 x weeks of different classics, including novels, poems, short stories and plays - if you don't like one of them, you don't have to participate as much in that week!
A certificate at the end of the course.
The opportunity to use teacher 'office hours' to talk more with me.
This class is intended for students who want to start working on their abilities after learning the basics. It is recommended for Intermediate and above levels.
Course start dates:
- 29th March, 7.30pm (Tuesdays)
- 2nd April, 10am (Saturdays)
